Canine hoopers shows

Ready to put your hoopers skills to the test?

Our BK9 Hoopers shows run across multiple venues in the North East and welcome competitors of all levels. Whether you’re a first-time competitor or an experienced handler, our events provide a fun and supportive environment to showcase your progress.

About our hoopers competitions

In canine hoopers competitions, dogs navigate flowing courses made up of hoops, barrels, and tunnels—guided by their handlers using clear cues and distance handling. The goal is to complete the course cleanly (with no faults) and within time, showcasing teamwork, confidence, and control.

Our competitions are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, with an emphasis on encouragement, personal bests, and fun over pressure.

Why compete?

  • Celebrate your training milestones

  • Experience a new environment in a controlled way

  • Earn clear round rosettes

  • Build confidence—for both you and your dog

  • Meet like-minded dog owners and be part of a friendly, growing community

Who can enter?

We welcome you to enter any dog that has an understanding of hoopers equipment and can work calmly in a new environment. If you can run a course of 16-20 obstacles then you are ready to give it a go!
You don’t need to be a seasoned competitor—many of our entrants are just starting out and come along for the experience!

If you're unsure whether you and your dog are ready, feel free to get in touch—we're happy to guide you.

Our venues

We are privileged to have the use of two amazing venues, allowing us to run shows most of the year.

K9 Freedom Fields, DH6 4ER is our summer venue, just off the A1(M) with space for an off lead exercise area.

Holmside Hall Equestrian, DH7 0DT is our winter venue with ample parking, a clean arena and cafe on site.
